From the dramatic limestone landscapes of Rammang-Rammang and traditional Torajan villages to ancient burial sites, mountain viewpoints and some of Indonesia's most unusual cultural traditions, this journey offers an authentic introduction to a part of Indonesia that remains far beyond the usual tourist trail.
But this trip is about more than discovery.
With communities across Indonesia affected by devastating recent disasters, we wanted to create a journey that could give something back. 100% of Plesir's profits from this trip will be donated to disaster relief efforts in Indonesia through Human Aid Initiative.
Toraja has also been on our founder's personal bucket list for years. By joining this journey, you'll not only experience the extraordinary culture of Celebes, but also help support communities in Indonesia when they need it most.
Itinerary
Jakarta to Makassar & Toraja
Begin your journey with an early morning flight from Jakarta to Makassar, the gateway to South Sulawesi.
From Makassar, travel north towards Toraja, stopping along the way to explore the spectacular Rammang-Rammang karst landscape and Berua Village, surrounded by limestone mountains, rivers and lush scenery.
Continue towards Pare-Pare, the birthplace of former Indonesian president and aviation engineer B. J. Habibie, before travelling onwards into the Toraja highlands.
En route, enjoy the dramatic views around Mount Nona / Buntu Kabobong before arriving in Toraja for your first evening.

Set amidst the beautiful highlands of Toraja, Toraja Misiliana Hotel offers a comfortable stay surrounded by lush tropical scenery and traditional Torajan architecture.
